MT GOP Calls for Senator Ellsworth to Resign

MTGOP • March 26, 2025

In light of the findings outlined in the recent Senate Ethics Committee report, the Montana Republican  Party believes that Senator Jason Ellsworth is no longer fit to serve in the Montana State Senate. The Report has raised serious concerns regarding his conduct, and we firmly believe that for the good of the sate and the well-being of his constituents, Senator Ellsworth should step down from his position.

We urge Senator Ellsworth to resign voluntarily in order to restore trust in the Senate and allow for a focus on the work that lies ahead for the people of Montana. Should Senator Ellsworth choose not to resign, the Montana Republican Party will fully support the Senate's decision to expel him, ensuring that the integrity of the Senate remains intact.

This stance was reached following a unanimous vote by the Montana Republican Party's Executive Board.

The Montana Republican Party remains committed to serving the interests of all Montanans and upholding the highest standards of conduct in our state government.

-The Montana Republican Party Executive Board

CALL TO ACTION

We are asking for immediate action on legislative issue call, email or text senators (needs to be done asap) to vote to expel Sen. Jason Ellsworth from his senate position in the Montana legislature due to unethical evidence presented by the ethics committee.

EXPLANATION

Sen. Ellsworth on dec. 26, 2024, presented a bifurcated contract with a need for expediency (he was not authorized to spend the total of $170,000, thus two contracts), failed to disclose close association of contractor, contract included immediate payment, went around procurement procedures.

STATEMENT

Ask for a principled vote based on the ethics committee evidence as presented of unethical actions to expel Sen. Jason Ellsworth as a legislator in the Montana legislature, example:

Subject: Please Vote to Expel Senator Jason Ellsworth Based on Ethics Evidence

Dear Senator,

I’m writing to you as a concerned Montanan who believes in the integrity of our state government. The Senate Ethics Committee report has laid out clear evidence of unethical behavior by Senator Jason Ellsworth, and it’s shaken my trust in our legislature. As a constituent, I’m asking you to take a stand and vote to expel him from the Montana State Senate.

This isn’t about politics—it’s about principle. The report shows actions that no legislator should be allowed to get away with, and I believe we deserve representatives who uphold the highest standards. Please review the committee’s findings and cast a principled vote to remove Senator Ellsworth. Montana’s future depends on leaders we can trust, and your vote can help make that a reality.

Thank you for listening and for all you do for our state.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

[Your City/Town], Montana
