Current Gallatin County Attorney Audrey Cromwell does not have the support of the police or sheriffs’ offices throughout the county. Currently, all but one of these has endorsed the Republican candidate for County Attorney, Jordan Salo.


Criticism of the current County Attorney:

Failure to prosecute numerous domestic abuse cases. Of over 90 cases during her tenure, 80% have been dismissed and only 5 of the remaining perpetrators received any jail time. Law enforcement officers are discouraged that their investigations are not resulting in prosecutions.



Audrey Cromwell does not cooperate with ICE on release of detainees with deportation orders. This spring, she flew to Minneapolis to join protests against ICE activities and deportations.


Audrey Cromwell’s office gives little support to officers in court cases with pretrial consultations or directions to help with prosecutions. Before her election to the position of County Attorney, Audrey Cromwell had little experience as a prosecuting attorney.


Jordan Salo, Republican candidate for county attorney, has the support of 90% of the law enforcement agencies and police unions in Gallatin County. She has a decade of experience as a  prosecutor and is currently a victim advocate in Gallatin County.
