Gallatin County Republican Party Denounces Main Street Advocacy Group
(Bozeman, MT) Recent print and radio ads for local candidates from a group calling itself the "Main Street Advocacy Fund" mentioned that it is affiliated with the GOP. The Gallatin County Republican Central Committee as well as the Montana State GOP has no affiliation with this group.
State records show that this group has ties to the liberal, left-leaning Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and they are using their out-of-state money to influence local elections. This practice is disturbing and borders on corruption. In August, 2009 the SEIU organizers also attempted to disrupt the Bozeman protest rally at the airport and incite violence during President Obama’s visit.
Out-of-state money influencing local elections is not what the Gallatin County Republicans represent. We want Montanans to know that Gallatin County Republicans have no affiliation with this group whatsoever and we denounce their actions.

Gallatin County Republican Party Responds to Public Statements Made Favoring Primary Election Cross-over Voting (Bozeman, MT)
Today the Gallatin County Republican Party issued the following policy statement regarding primary election cross-over voting:
The Gallatin County Republican Party does not believe in or encourage the practice of cross-over voting. We believe the primary process should not be influenced by party intimidation through raiding or sabotaging another party’s primary. In doing so, cross-over voting denies that party from deciding their own outcomes, corrupts the democratic process, and disenfranchises voters. We consider cross-over voting for such purposes to be unethical.
We pledge our local Republican party will not participate in any such activity and urge our members and others to follow the same example.
